Welcome to St. Francis Residence, a private wing of Towner County Medical Center. It is a retirement residence that provides services to the elderly. It is especially designed to meet their physical, social, psychological, and spiritual needs to promote their self worth, personal dignity, security, happiness and healthful longevity. Since aging is truly a venture of life, the primary goal of St. Francis is to provide an atmosphere in which this venture can be undertaken with joy.

St. Francis offers the comforts of home with a number of additional services such as housekeeping, laundry, meals, professional nursing staff, monitoring of medications, daily activities and much more. Although residents must be capable of independent living, many support systems will be available to them. Opportunities for individual growth will be encouraged and a true sense of community will be fostered. Activities for residents include:

We have a well trained nursing staff on duty twenty four hours a day to ensure the safe care of each resident. Whether a resident needs assistance with medication or daily living activities, our staff is ready to help. St. Francis is located within the medical center, therefore, when medical services are necessary, professional staff is only moments away.
Clinical, dental, foot care and eye care services are available within the medical facility. Church services are held weekly in the residents’ lounge area. Transportation is provided by the senior citizen bus at a minimal fee or you may use your own vehicle. Residents are free to come and go from the facility as they wish.
St. Francis Residence offers a nice resident dining room as well as a comfortable and cozy family room. A kitchenette is also provided and may be used at the residents’ convenience. Cable TV is available in the room at no charge and residents desiring their own phone may make the necessary arrangements. During the warm summer days, residents can relax outside and enjoy themselves on the residence patio.

Requirements for Admission

The completion of an application form is necessary for admission or placement on a waiting list. Residents must be ambulatory, though canes and walkers are permitted. They must be physically capable and mentally able to independently care for their personal needs. The residents will continue to have the freedom of choice they enjoyed in their homes and will have additional assistance from our available staff when needed.
Selection of residents is made through application for admission, need for immediate housing and placement on the waiting list. St. Francis fulfills a special housing need for the elderly and accepts all persons in need regardless of age, sex, race, color, creed or financial status.
